This Semester

My class BC 203 - 01 short for Electronic media production II also describe as a Digital Content Creation and Distribution course. This course was a great experience.  Writing was a key part of this course. BC 203-01 taught us how to create videos and image creation, editing, layout and design, and Web-based design. We set up blog post for each topic and wrote about what we learned doing various projects.



1. Twitter is the first social media outlet we learned about. Twitter is primarily used to display your thoughts about certain events and topics relevant to the mainstream media. In recent years twitter has grown in popularity and is being used as a platform to promote business and trending topics especially to celebrities.

2. The second social media outlet we learned about is LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a social media platform that allows people to network with professionals, to establish relationships that translate into job opportunities. LinkedIn allows users to post their education, experience and skills to ensure that employers know enough about them to see if they are qualified for the job. On my LinkedIn i have about 30 friends who Im in contact with almost everyday.

3. The third social media outlet we learned about is Pinterest. The mission is to help people discover things they love. The site allows uses to express how people feel using photos, and is very good for advertising because companies have pinheads displaying their products. On my Pinterest I have 8 boards describing me as a person.

4.  The fourth social media outlet we leaned about is Prezi. Preszi is a presentation website. It can be used for Power Points. Instead of showing slides all time, Prezi allows you to zoom in and out each bubble. On my Prezi i did " Top 10 Athletes of all time.

5. The fifth social media outlet we learned about is the Green Screen. Green screen also known as " Chroma Key " is a visual effects / post-production technique for creating two images or video streams together based on color hues. On my Green screen I putt myself in the gym.

6. Last but not least the sixth social media outlet we learned about is Kizoa. Kizoa edits and creates slideshows that you can share online or download to your computer. i actually had fun doing this because we had to walk around our entire campus look for bulldog statures. it was a scavenger hunt.

As a student I learn techniques to use on social media sites to promote myself and present my content to the public. Layout, web design,  image processing, Photoshop, Adobe in Design, iMovie and more. Setting up a blog enhance my social media presence on Linkedin, Twitter, Prezi, Kizoa and Pinterest. This course has strengthen me as a student in mass media and communication professional, before I only used social media to communicate with friends but now I know how to use social media outlets to promote myself.

Mr. Harwood gave us a scavenger hunt assignment to look for as much ' Bulldog Statues " as possible around South Carolina State University Campus. This assignment was actually fun because it required me to travel around the whole campus all at one time in one day. I came to realize that there were building I never knew exist.

Green Screen Into The Gym

Green screen also known as " Chroma Key "

 is a visual effects / post-production technique for creating two images or video streams together based on color hues

This project is called the green screen assignment. I pick the gym because working out is one of my favorite things to do. My happy place. I also chose this picture because I love to play football so i have to stay in shape.

The first thing I did was find a picture of ta gym. Then I imported it to adobe premier pro.

( Go to file import and select the image).

I added the picture to the adobe program. The dragged  the picture to the V1 panel on the screen., which would now be my background. I went into the green screen room and posed myself making a muscle as if i just finish working out.

I imported the picture into adobe premier pro and scaled it down to the size I wanted it to be, so it would appear that im at the gym. I used the ultra key tool and the matte generation tool so that I can remove the green screen and blend in the gym background. Now it looks like im there.

Prezi Top Level Presentation

Presi is s a presentation website. It can be used for Power Points. Instead of showing slides all time, Prezi allows you to zoom in and out each bubble. Prezi is founders three founders, Adam Somilia - Fisher, Peter Halacys, and Peter Arvai. The Head quarters is located in San Francisco, California. Peter Arvai is now the CEO.

Presi has topics base on each category your presentation is on. Within the topics there are Sub - Topics. That goes in to a deeper understand  on what your presentation is about.

Pinterest is a social media outlet almost like Instagram, but consist of pictures, GIFS, and videos. Pinterest has three founders Paul Sciarra, Evan Sharp and Ben Siberman. Ben Siberman is the current CEO. The mission is to help people discover things they love. The site allows uses to express how people feel using photos, and is very good for advertising because companies have pinheads  displaying their products. Pinterest has everything when it comes to categories. (Romance, Bucket-list, sports, fashion, food, athletes, anime, animals, quotes, business, comedy, moves motivation, goals, comedy and more.)

Pinterest allows businesses to create pages aimed-at promoting their companies online. Some are like store fronts to shop  Users rather shop on Pinterest than they do on Facebook. Pinterest drive move sales when it comes to brands promoting they company compared to others social medias.

Pinterest attracts not just businesses but students and professors also as well. They created a handbook for educators for a platform to educated students in school. Another learning lesson and very simple way of navigating social media. Students can use Pinterest to brain storm ideas, research projects, and teach self reliance. Its also a good way to plan field trips and go on vacations.

Scottie Pippen & Michael Jordan

The flu game photo still matters 20 years later. One of the the most iconic moments to come from the game. Scottie Pippen holding up Jordan as they walked off the floor because Michael Jordan was sick with the flu. This Picture remind me of " are you my brothers keeper ".

If you want to be the best sometimes it will cause you to be uncomfortable. By you being comfortable all the time you may never know what it feels to see something new. You have to take risk to survive.

BoraBora - The Romantic Island


Bora Bora, conjures up romance and adventure. This is the part of the world where you can see exquisite landscapes. Bora Bora is an island of black mountain rock that rises from the turquoise blue sea. The island is surrounded by a lagoon and a barrier reef and in the center of the island there are two extinct volcanos, Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu.

Thomas Blake: Blood Is Thicker Than Water

What motivates you in life? What’s your will of fire? According to Thomas Blake its “Family “.  Growing up in Charleston South Carolina. Thomas is the middle child of three, raised by two hardworking parents. From a young age Thomas was raised to be independent. Family of five: Married parents and two brothers. Thomas older brother being 20 years apart, he always had to play the big brother role and second to being man of the house. Thomas never asked for much.  In High school during his 9^th grade year he found out his mother was diagnosed with “Breast Cancer “. In America  1 in 8 woman in the united states, or 12% of an individual woman has a chance of developing breast cancer over an 80-year lifespan. Unfortunately, Thomas mother fell under that. But knowing Thomas that wasn’t enough to get him down. He thought positive, kept faith. That’s part of the reason why his mother became a breast cancer survivor.  During this time Thomas became stronger and wiser. In high school he decided to join the “Leadership Program “, traveling state to state for better experience. Shortly after, the best time of the year was coming. A time when all family gets together. Every memorials day Thomas family has a family reunion in Virginia. I know Thomas personally, everything is always a growing experience to him. The next step in life was going to college. Thomas chose one of South Carolina's HBCU schools. Such as South Carolina State University.

1. How did you balance being the middle child? My parents did not spoil us but raised us to be very humble. We as brothers never asked for much. When funds are there my parents never had a problem given us what we need. So, we were never spoon fed.

2    2. I know it came as a surprise when you found out your mother had breast cancer? Yes, it did. I was worried but my family is so strong minded. I knew as a family, we can get through this together.  My father started to work longer hours and my mother was no longer active. During this time, I learned to be more appreciative of my mother, you only get one. Life is not promise. I must be thankful for what I have. 

     3. What would you tell somebody that’s going through a similar situation in their family? Anybody that’s going through a similar situation don’t isolate yourself thinking it’s the end of the world. Be around good people. Stay active, stay alive, and positive minded. Stay in contact with a lot of your friends and keep them updated on the situation just in case you need some help. This is the time to be strong, be somebody your younger siblings can look up to.

4.During High school you decided to join the leadership program, what was that like? Yea I decided to join the leadership program because I felt like I need to get more involve in school activities. I felt like I can take that role and I wanted to accomplish something to make my family proud.

5. What would you tell someone who is thinking about volunteering? I would tell them to choose an organization they would get most out of and will enjoy to the fullest. Once you get in, make sure you get to know the people you are working with. You want to Build connections

6. Every year you have a family reunion is it everything you expected? When I tell you that I wish everyday was a family reunion. I see cousins I grew up with and uncles that raise me. We have family events such as all white party, game sack race, we go to the beach, and the Country club.

7. What would you say is the most valuable moment? (Important) That’s a good one. Out of all the fun that happens during my family reunion weekend. I would have to say when my uncles pull the next generation to the side to talk about our family past and what they expect from us in the future. You know one of deep conversations you have about why family is the only thing you have in this world and you should never use sight of that.

8.  How do you think your family and friends would describe you? My family and friends would describe me as a quiet person that doesn’t try to stand out. I might not be the best communicator but I always enjoying listening. I know for a fact that they would say I’m very helpful. I’m a little bit of a loaner but once you get to know me I can be very goofy.

 9. You attend South Carolina State University. Out of all schools why this one? I Love my HBCU. The reason I chose this school is because of Legacy. My previous family went here so I felt like it was only right that I continue the tradition. One family in mind is my aunt “Sandra Gadsden “. She played woman basketball during the 1978-81 season, and was inducted to 2014 SC State University Athletic Hall of Fame.

10. What are your plans after graduation?  I’m a Mass communication major. I plan on being a Sports Analyst or a producer. I already know that I have to start small and work my way up and I’m okay with that. I just started learning how to work the camera. I help broadcast school games and special school events.
